Rip City

Congratulations to the Portland Trail Blazers on a nice win over Kobe Bryant, Colonel Sanders, and the L.A. Lakers. To Steve Blake especially.

I just back from the game and my ears are ringing. What a nice game. So far I am 2-0 on game attendance, Lakers and Phili.

As a not-so-big NBA fan, I think I could get into the Blazers again if they keep their egos in check. I forgot how fun it can be.

But ultimately, I'm a Timbers Army nut first.

Seeing Steve Blake do good is nice. He really deserves this over Telfair. If we can only make Telfair 6 inches taller maybe we have a shooting guard in him, but I don't see him running plays like a good PG.

Colonel Sanders....LOL!!!

Telfar looks a little like another Damon Stoudamire -- an undersized point guard who's really more of a shooting guard. He should have gone to college.

at least Damon could actually shoot.

As an ACC fan who remembers when Blake and Dixon used to come into Cameron, I'm happy to see these two Terps get their time in the limelight.

And you can see how a good guard brings everyone else into the mix. Wasn't it great to see them move the ball around? That toss from Blake to Ratliff in the 3rd quarter was fantastic. Ratliff has the best game I've seen this season.

Ultimately, though, I think they'll have to give way to taller guards (I though Martell Webster was listed at the guard position). Otherwise, we'll get torched by teams with guards 4 inches taller than either Blake or Dixon.
