Follow the leaders

James did it. Lizbet did it. Might as well weigh in with my own states-visited map:

create your own visited states map or write about it on the open travel guide

Only 8 states that I haven't set foot in. BONUS: I've been to Puerto Rico.

UPDATE, 1/30, 11:00 a.m.: Looks like this toy may have gotten a little too popular. If the map server continues to be overwhelmed, I'll pull this post.

You're welcome to visit us up here in Maine. You have a choice of winter, mud season, black fly season, and summer (which will occur on July 28th this year). We just moved into a double-wide, so there's plenty of room for you and your family. Hope to see you soon.

My map looks pretty boring, all red, since last August when I finally made it to Alaska. I'm obsessive about travel and keeping lists. I'm trying to visit all the US National Parks, about 55 or 56 total, including 8 in Alaska, 1 in the US Virgin Islands and 1 in American Samoa. That last one doesn't look very likely. I've also visited every county in Oregon, California, Utah and Wyoming. Like I said, obsessive, but not as bad as this guy: http://www.cheklist.com/travelsummary.cfm

Yep.

No one's been to North Dakota, eh?

Time to give it back to the Canadians or the native Americans?

[Would anyone miss it?]

Man! I thought that I was pretty well traveled. Nice job Jackie! Just 8 to go for you...I, on the other hand, have quite a few more!
