A newcomer for your blogroll

As we put this blog into mothballs over the next few days, we'll try to leave behind a selection of good links for readers who are interested in some of the issues that we've been covering. In that regard, here's a new blog that's springing up in response to our departure; and here's another one that's been bucking Portland Polite down in Lake O. for a while now. They're just two of a couple of handfuls on our list, which we'll have on our main page soon. We wish them and all our local bloggers well -- even the ones with whom we wholeheartedly disagree.

And to echo your sentiment, all the best in your professional endeavor; hope to see you back here when you've finished.

I'll check these out, but I have to admit that life without you is like a broken pencil: pointless.

Have you ever had one of those west-coast restaurant versions of Nathan's Coney Island sauce on a dog? It's never quite the same. The meat is different, the sauce is different. It's good, but it's not the same as Nathan's.

I'll visit their blogs, and I'll read their posts, but I'll miss my blogger from Jersey.

Hmmm, the link to bojackl.org is kinda a problem. Hope that's just teething trouble.

Jack. You will be missed. I hope you return, after earning a huge success with your new project. May the wind be at your back.

I'm up to the anger stage of grief. Where are resignation and acceptance when you need them?

Many of you know of my concerns regarding our water
so want to share this link with you.

This is a new website by Scott Fernandez
and other members of a community working group.
The website will be adding material and will be a
good site to check for updates and information on the important process for
a Waiver and other matters concerning our Bull Run Water System.

This is not a new blog, but a national one with interesting threads and comments.
These are progressives who are not afraid to be critical of either party.

Balancing Social Security Obama Style
By: masaccio Sunday April 7, 2013 11:30 am

. . . .Common sense dictates that the notion of balance, Obama’s silly war cry, with a party teetering on the edge of hysteria, is bound to be a disaster for commons sense. But that’s not how Mr. Change the Political Discourse sees it. Soon we will see the details of his cuts to Social Security. Or, as his Talking Point Person says in the video, hey, we aren’t eliminating anything, we’re finding middle ground between leaving well enough alone like you stupid people want, and stomping old people into the financial dirt. Let’s call it “squeezing the last drop of blood out of the old turnips”.
