Nike in SoWhat? Doesn't look like it.
That talk was all probably bait for the tax giveaway. They're staying in the Beav. Maybe a token office in Portland -- probably not even that.

Nike was never going to build in Portland. Frankly, I'll be impressed if they even build in Oregon. I've always thought it was a scam to ensure tax breaks.

"They have three."
Zing!
(Those offices are the Nike Store and two Nike Factory stores.)

But, by making a BIg issue out of it and complying with Dollar Phil's request, Retread and Clyvia stay on the guest list.

Expect a memo from the Beaverton development agency and the Mazz trumpeting a vibrant 28 acres in West Bvtn made possible with URDs and TIF.

Phil's always been the main force behind staying in Oregon. By the way, he's not the one milking the cows.

In other breaking news, the sky is blue. Errrr, gray.
I'm SHOCKED to hear that they're expanding on land they already own, right by their campus. Who could have seen that coming?

Back in the day when companies would blatantly lie about something (lookin' at you, OHSU), they'd wait nine months or a year before producing the real numbers and plans. Here, we didn't even get four months away from the promise to save SoWhat. I guess Uncle Phil has simply adapted Chip Kelly's "hurry-up offense."

It's interesting that the land they own and that they are looking into developing is apparently a wetland. Should be some interesting shenanigans forthcoming with that process. Everyone knows the development of yet another new running or soccer shoe trumps the habitat of wee beasties.
