Crazy hoops

Here's quite the ending in a high school state basketball championship game in New York today:

Love the announcers. The next generation is here, folks, and they are great.

Wow. The replays show the red light around the backboard shining red while there's still 0.1 seconds on the clock. Nobody deserved to lose that one.

Again, this video is Wild Thing by the Trogs.

What a tough call to make. It's amazing to witness the ebb and flow of emotion. Freakin' roller coaster.

Dan, try a different browser. Or put down the bong.

Really? I don't see that. The two replays with the clock in the corner clearly show the ball out of the shooter's hand at 0.1.

The refs made the right call, then wisely got the heck out of there.

Nobody deserved to lose that one.

The team that lost squandered a 10-point lead down the stretch. Then the kid who intercepted the pass did something quite stupid. I'd say they didn't deserve to win.

I heard this morning the shooter was also the quarterback of state champ high football team.

Two of the local HS Ball powers of my youth. An old and worthy rivalry. "It's loose at 00.1!" Indeed. The thrill of victory never more stunningly witnessed.

Jack,

Look at 2:42. Yes, the ball's out of his hands at 00.1, but the red light around the backboard is on.

I stand by my comment.
