A climber friend always reminds me, "every day on the mountain is a day we don't get older." Unfortunately, every year it gets a little harder to get out on the snow, rock, and ice. So it goes . . . enjoy it while you can but eventually we all get to the point where we don't buy green banannas.
I'm with Sally. Nothing pessimistic there - just bittersweet, precious REALITY. It was a sad day to disconnect my parents telephone number - they had it for 50 years!
It's important to plan ahead, folks. Do your children a loving favor and make realistic choices about where and how you will live your 'golden years' while you still have the capacity to do so.

For all of us rounding the corner and headed home it all makes sense. I also saw this post the other day......
The past, the present,
and the future walked into a bar.
It was tense.

That's a few light years deeper than "today is the first day of the rest of your life," isn't it.

'That's a few light years deeper than "today is the first day of the rest of your life," isn't it'.
How about "today is the last day of the best of your life..." ever the pessimist.

Make sure to ask your doctor to test your Vitamin B12 levels. B12 deficiency is a huge problem. This has been your healthcare advisory.
