Now they're being grounded. Tough times for Boeing. And we're glad we're not riding in one any time soon.

Sadly, the people most responsible for this fiasco won't be held responsible. Or, as to paraphrase something that a friend told me when we worked for ITT Hartford (a similarly dysfunctional environment), "The boss and the biggest jackass in the company can usually be hit with the same bullet."
The only 787s that will ever fly into Portland will be to get painted and "delivered" (thanks to Washington's sales tax, Boeing has a long history of flying planes to Oregon for customer acceptance, although I don't believe it's as much as an issue these days as in the past.) Enjoy your 737s and A320s...
