Last 'dog left

The 49ers tried as hard as they could to give it away early, but the Falcons wouldn't take it. And gee whiz, the favorite won by exactly the point spread. Hmmmm...

Anyway, the players in our charity pro football underdog game who chose Atlanta today come up empty. With one game left in our season, here are the two possible finishes:

If Baltimore wins:

1. DB Cooper 67
2. Will 53.5
3. George 53
4. Grizfan 50.5
5. PDXileinOmaha 47

If Baltimore loses:

1. DB Cooper 57.5
2. Will 44
3. George 43.5
3. Tung 43.5
5. Grizfan 41

Congratulations to our top three finishers, and good luck to the three players jockeying for the last two prize spots.

UPDATE, 7:05 p.m.: Well, wow -- the last 'dog came through, big time. It's an all-Harbaugh Super Bowl. As one player in our game remarked this morning, it's hard to tell whether the game will be known as the Harbowl or the Super Baugh. Anyway, congrats to our winners, condolences to our losers, and we'll be getting around to the prize-awarding process momentarily.

Are you ready for the Harbaugh Bowl?

Uh, Har-Barf Bowl, you mean.

And gee whiz, the favorite won by exactly the point spread. Hmmmm...

Yeah, that non-call on the mauling that the Falcons' receiver got on that 4th down call near the end in front of the Niners' goal line fixed that 4-pt. spread in concrete. Blatant and crude defensive holding.

Still, the Falcons molted in the 3rd Q and played like dodos, taking 2 bad unsportsmanlike penalties that kept SF drives alive. The injury to RB Michael Turner's ankle that knocked him out of the game in the 3rd
was a game-changer, too. OSU's Jacquizz Rodgers played admirably in taking over for Turner.
