Have a great weekend

When I was in HS, every kid in every garage band knew the full repertoire of CCR music. Straightforward playable, not a lot of extreme riffs...
Lean, clean, and bluesy (look at the lite-brite on the jacket of Cosmo's Factory)

Cheers to all for the weekend: It's Mike

That's a LOT of hair being shaken!

Jack you're killing me.
Here Iam watching the great video of CCR & JF belting it out and I notice the next blog entry. Pernsteiner's quiting, why? As Mr Fogarty says it all "don't let the man git you" I thinks he got got by da man. LMAO.

Thanks , have a great weekend for sure.

Born on the Bayou is CCR's best original song in my opinion. A commenter above mentioned high school bands. I have been out of high school since 1985 and I was just learning this one on guitar LAST WEEK. The music is powerful and lasting.

Check out their best cover, I Heard It Through the Grapevine:

There's a 10-minute version of the song with an incredible John Fogerty solo on Youtube but I couldn't get it to work on my phone.
.

It's a great jam, along the lines of wonderful, older "Suzie Q."

Ha ha, I looked like the drummer back then.
Great song.

Fond memories, thanks Jack!

Mr.Grumpy,
Did you also play the drums then?
You certainly keep the beat going here on critical issues.
I like your persistence.
