Another hypocrite....he lists his religion as being LDS. They aren't supposed to drink alcohol...I wonder to which type of "impairment" he will admit....alcohol or drugs?
I find it fun to note some of the names that have been elected to office. In some cases mispronunciation of the name provides the fun. Examples without comment: Boehner (House); From the senate-Blunt, Pryor, Boozman, Crapo, Wyden. Other than Boehner, I did not check the House of Reps. Some of these people exemplify their names, such as Boehner (his party thinks he pulled a real Boehner), Crapo (enough said), Wyden (his horizons all the way to New York).
He should confer with Heidi Heitkamp, because...
"Currently, a North Dakota driver’s first conviction for driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content of up to 0.17 can result in up to 91 days’ suspension of their license. Penalties also include a $250 fine and a mandatory referral to an addiction facility or alcohol evaluation. For those with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 or higher, the license suspension is 180 days."
Had to laff at how the news folks want to make sure we don't mispronounce the good senator's name. Fortunately for our pronunciation-challenged minds, there aren't too many ways to mispronounce drunk (DER-unc) and hypocrite (HIP'-o-crit.)
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — Authorities say U.S. Sen. Michael Crapo (KRAY’-poh) has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence in a Washington, D.C. suburb.
Ahhh, yes. The party of "Do as I say, not as I do". Given the "flexibility" of the Mormon religion, I'm sure they will write in a clause to their scripture making DUI's by Bishops to be okay, backdated of course.
So proud to be a native Idahoan!
Wish I were going to Boise for Christmas - would be interesting to hear the various news outlets' take on the matter. Guess Mom and Bro will have to give me the phoned home version.
Idaho news sources are headlining the DUI, but after Senator Larry Craig's "wide stance" in the Minneapolis Airports mens room a few years back, this is small potatoes, and (I think) will die quickly. The LDS connection is a stinger (I didn't know he was LDS till reading it here - that wasn't on any campaign literature that I saw) but the LDS'ers will stick with him regardless.
What's interesting about Idaho is that yes, "he's a tighty righty" - but he's not Tea Party, which isn't as big here as you think. He's more of an 'old school' Republican than Tea Party burn-down-the-house republican. I'm a Dem., don't/won't vote for the man, but he's honorable. And conservative.
And he's handling this scandal well in the local press: A big Mea Culpa/"I made a mistake" is a good defense.

With names like Crapo and Flake, what would you expect from the GOP Senate?

An Oregonian who landed in Boise here.

Btw, his name isn't discussed/joked about here.
