Saw his show in Portland shortly before he died. So glad I was there.

He played outdoors in Salem one summer. The weather wasn't great, and I was busy. "I'll catch him next time," I told myself. Wrong. There was no next time. Never did see him in person.
This song is actually autobiographical. When you know the story behind it, the force that's coming through here is electrifying. I feel like crying sometimes when I watch SRV play. God rest his soul.

I still remember spending the next day with a beautiful brown-haired girl in a pickup truck on a South Carolina farm and listening to the SRV tribute on the radio. It's hard to believe it's been 22 years.
