Dirty job up for grabs
Wonder who's going to win the elections for the East Multnomah County Soil and Water Conservation District Board. We wrote in Jefferson Smith for both open positions. One of the races had no listed candidate. Somebody's got to win -- don't they?

I had 4 people write me in for the position that had no candidate. I just might win, but how will I know??

so - this is actually an important role. Why didn't anyone run for it?

or, is my question moot, based on whom I'm asking it of?

TJ: I wrote myself in for that spot, and so did my son.

The eligibility requirements for serving on this board are somewhat more restrictive than many other elected positions - like you have to be a rural property owner. Not many of those left in Multnomah County.

Ha! I wrote in Sam Adams because I figured he will need something to do to stay out of trouble next year.

That's odd. A bunch of them had Deanna Swenson's name written in.
