Hockey penalty: two weeks for slashing

As in, their own throats.

Well, the Winterhawks are on their biennial "eastern swing" for the next two weeks (6 games, starting tonight in Brandon Manitoba against the Brandon Wheat Kings); but they will be back on October 20 at the Rose Garden.
That will also be "pink the rink' night... yes, pink ice, and a fundraiser for Komen.
There is great hockey to watch right here at home, from teams of hungry young guys who put it ALL out there 100% every night.
C'mon out...

"The decision to cancel the first two weeks of the NHL season is the unilateral choice of the NHL owners," NHLPA Executive Director Donald Fehr said in a statement. "If the owners truly cared about the game and the fans, they would lift the lockout and allow the season to begin on time while negotiations continue.

"A lockout should be the last resort in bargaining, not the strategy of first resort," he added.

Another perfect example of trickle-down economics at work. Trickle in this case, being a rather large stream of steaming (opposite of your-out) hitting the players square in the pocket book.

That's right, Mike! Great team, with a great history, in a great league. Jack, keep an eye on those PPD email releases -- if he's in town, NHL Commish Gary Bettman might have to be talked down off of the top of the Tram. {rimshot}
