"I'm off duty" Portland cop finally named
Not by the police bureau officially, but by his peers, many of whom are unhappy with him. His name is Ryan Martinson. His excuse for not getting involved when a robbery was in progress -- not even calling it in -- was reportedly that he had a court date on a traffic ticket. Wow, way to go.

And the court date?
The charges were dismissed!
What else has this cop not done, that he was so committed that he had to make that court date? I think stopping a robbery in progress would be an acceptable excuse for being a no show.

Do they miss gettting overtime pay if they miss a court appearance? Plus, if they miss a court appearance they probably get a little black mark. No matter what his mental malfuncttion was, PoPo's whole culture's got some fatal flaws in their ethos and value system.
