He's taking you for a ride, all right

This pretty much says it all about Portland 2012. At least he didn't hit anybody in the gonads that day.

Be happy he's wearing a helmet - I don't think he can risk much more brain loss from an accident.

He should wear that brain bucket all day, every day. And Char-Lie Hales should wear a hat & bow tie like Pinocchio's.

What's going on here? O'Leary, one of Smith's major contributors/volunteer riding without a helmet and Maus of BikePortland another major Smith supporting posting this.

You'd think Smith being so concerned about humanity would put a helmet on his friend.

Probably elbowed it off him when he tried to pass.

Maybe O'Leary was using the helmet to cover his balls in case Jefferson went off.

He looks pretty rough for only being age 39. Its not like he has led a hard life, either.

Island of the misfit toys...

Something about that photo brought this sketch to mind:

Particularly the first 15 seconds....

Notice any drop-off in the quality of the quotes?

Thomas Jefferson: "No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him."

Jefferson Smith: "“If I wanted to punch him in the nuts, I would have punched him in the nuts.”

Ya know, Bill, that about summarizes the difference between the quality of the people who founded this nation in the Age of Enlightenment and the psychopaths running it into the ground in the Age of Self-Aggrandizement.

Well, who knows what TJ might have said if someone charged through him on the way to a game-winning lay-up (basketball wasn't invented until last century for you history buffs).

Here's another good TJ quote:

“The end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations."
