Folks with Roman collars have previously gone to jail in the US for pedophilia.

This is important precisely because this guy appears to not himself be the pedophile. Rather he is part of the gang that covered up for years for the pedophiles and implemented the policies of coverup that the morally bankrupt bishops, archbishops and cardinals established to protect the pedophiles.

Its more than time that folks like Levada and Bernie Law saw the inside of a jail cell. But they will skate because of the timidity of prosecutors and the artificiality of statutes of limitation.

Covering up and promoting pedophilia is punishable as pedophilia under conspiracy/accessory doctrines. I may be rusty on the specifics, but all these guys and those that knew about it are sex offenders under the law. They should be registered as such and treated as such.

Yet the church is shielded by notions of piety, divine justice (hellfire!) and infallibility.

I care not for bible quotes because that same book has been used to shield history's largest child sex ring. I care even less that Catholics are condemned to hell for engaging in and supporting this behavior. I want heads to roll right now, purge it. It won't happen. Too sacred. The dream of every pedophile on the planet is to become trusted by families with children. This is the primary method for gaining access to those children. You must woo the parents. Become a teacher, day care provider, step father, etc. Nothing compares to priest though. You get the trust as well as a billion strong organization protecting you when your sodomy gets out of hand. It really is a perfect set up for pedo's.
