It depends on how you define "outside"

This is kinda funny: Bill Clinton parades into Wisconsin to tell voters there not to let outsiders influence their votes in the upcoming recall election.

'Tis indeed. Sort of like someone giving you instructions how to think for yourself.

Didn't know that Clinton moved to Wisconsin. Is he a cheesehead now?

I don't think this is snarkable.

I lived in Wisconsin in the early 1990s, and voted for Clinton in 1992 - he campaigned and won Wisc. over George HW Bush by 5% that year. Next election I was in Oregon, but Clinton won the Wisc. vote again, getting 52% against Bob Dole. (Both sources from Wikipedia.)

Regardless of what people now think of Clinton, the majority of wisconsinites voted for him in those Presidential races.

I don't remember seeing the Koch Brothers on any ballots, and the underlying reason for Clinton's visit (Walker's 20-to-1 spending advantage against challenger Barrett, with 2/3rds of Gov. Walker's money originating from out of state) is daunting. (Source: The Leader-Telegram newspaper in Eau Claire, Wisc.)

From the national perspective, the recall is being media-played as a Union vrs. Reformer fight, (and both the Union and the reformers like that media spotlight.) That's unfortunate, and obscures the underlying problem - that Scott Walker is not fit for the office.

I'm not going to waste fellow bojackers time listing why I think this, but must point out two things.

1.) Politifact has reviewed 54 of Gov. Walkers statements: 33 of them are deemed "Mostly False" to "Pants on Fire" - a whopping 61% of Walkers (reviewed) statements are falsehoods. You can't trust the man.

2.) John Dean (yes, the John Dean of Watergate fame) says of Scott Walker, [he] "is more Nixonian than Nixon." Dean says that Walker is a “classic authoritarian,” in that Walker opposes equality, seeks personal power, and will steamroller others to force his viewpoint. No compromise, no survivors, Walker-take-all. A mentality Dean is familiar with.

The National Dem. Party has done little to help in the recall (ex., no visits from Pres. Obama to support challenger Barrett, no $$$ donations to the recall effort.) So while the Nat'l Dem. Party has been hands-off on this Wisconsin recall effort, the Republicans haven't been, and that's unfortunate. Walker is being protected by monied interests from outside of the state, and they aren't doing it because they love Wisconsin.

I appreciate Former President Clinton appearing in Wisconsin, trying to make a difference. He may not know what a Leinenkugel is, but I'd rather share one with him over a billionaire from NJ. (Nothing against NJ, Jack.)

None of this really matter as of tomorrow; when Wisconsin voters decide if they want to keep on paying for public worker unions and their benefit packages.

I was home in Madison last week visiting family. The folks there are fired-up--too bad they will not decide this.

The odds look good for Walker today. Let's wait for the final count tomorrow.

Regarding Dave A. above:

Dave A., you wrote "...Wisconsin voters decide if they want to keep on paying for public worker unions and their benefit packages."

Yeah, I hear you, Wisconsin gets to decide, but the issue isn't as simple as Wisconsinites deciding about 'public worker unions and their benefits,' While that's what the media talks about, it's not the reason many Wisconsinites are considering a recall.

Google: (a) Walkers aborted run for Student Body Pres. at Marquette, (b) Walkers (bogus) hiring an expert (!) to lead DNR, and subsequently (c) DNR's favoritism in applying penalties (nutshell: republicans who donated to the Walker campaign get to walk), (c) the North Wisc. open air Mining fiasco (d) relations with the tribes on that North Wisc. open pit mine, (e) and of course, the elephant in the room, his lying about when he started a defense fund/why he started a defense fund/and why 6 (?) of his current advisors are under indictment on criminal charges (2 convictions so far, new charges possibly pending due to Walker's "unwilling or unable" to turn over requested records for over 2 years.)

None of these have anything to do with Union/Benefit/Reform, but together, they give a picture of a man who should not be in office.

I think Walker will win tomorrow, but everything changes when the Milwaukee Prosecuting Attorney's criminal investigation plays out. (Google" "John Doe Criminal Investigation" and Walker".)

So it's not about "Public Worker Unions" and 'Benefits" - it's about criminal charges, unethical behavior, abuse of power. All eyes are on Wisconsin tomorrow.

Always the first hog to the trough.

"The National Dem. Party has done little to help in the recall (ex., no visits from Pres. Obama to support challenger Barrett, no $$$ donations to the recall effort.)"

Obama not visiting is significant help to the WI Democrats. Obama is kinda poison and most Demos shun him. As for the Demo bucks, Obama needs ever dime he can find; he has no money for coattails and is only focused on himself.
