Charles Lewis pops up in West Linn
Charles Lewis, who recently stepped down after 13 years as founder and director of Ethos Music, has resurfaced as the director of a youth music project for the Marie Lamfrom Charitable Foundation in West Linn. Lewis, a former Portland City Council candidate, gave up the demanding Ethos gig to spend more time with his wife and two small children. [Via the Trib.]

Jack,
Thanks for the mention on your blog. I'm excited to be working on our new project. The music school's website is located at www.YouthMusicProject.org.
We're kicking off our efforts with a series of summer camps in West Linn and Wilsonville. The first two camps are already sold out, but if your readers know of any students in the area (especially low income kids), they can check out our website. The foundation is giving 100% scholarships for kids who qualify for the free lunch program at school. So far, about 95% of our kids are on free or reduced lunch. While it seems like the West Linn area is much more affluent, there are also pockets of low income families that are completely left out. I'm looking forward to especially focusing on bringing music education opportunities to those kids.
On a personal note -- my wife and I are expecting our third child in August. While I might not be a good political candidate, I seem to be pretty successful making babies.
I hope all is well!
Charles Lewis
