And the George Romero analogy continues. "Every stupid idea that is not exterminated becomes one of THEM! It gets up and KILLS! The cities it kills get up and KILL!"
"Residents have been using less water, leading to lower consumption and thus, less revenue for maintenance of water lines and other improvement projects, said Patrick O'Claire, the city's finance director.
O'Claire proposed raising the flat monthly rate by a dollar to $10 and the consumption rate per 100 cubic feet by 20 cents to $2.67."
This is priceless, citizens of Beaverton, do well and you get rewarded accordingly.
Don't forget about light rail and urban plazas and transit centers that are vibrant community plazas!
(Of course, don't tell the people who flee the #1 response site for Beaverton Police (the Transit Center) and would rather enjoy the City Park next to the Library (well removed from the light rail line).
For every X gallons of water we save, that is one more of the bazillions of climate refugees we can cram into condos in the region. They're coming! If you all don't have utterly useless rain barrels like they did before we had reservoirs, then you are very selfish human beings who won't share your space on planet Earth with the workforce of tomorrow. I am planning to be one of the elites who won't have to follow any of the rules for the proletariat, just like Homer and the gang. Long, hot showers, aaaaaaah.
