One reason to vote for Nurse Amanda

The mayor who set Portland on its current path to self-destruction has endorsed her opponent.

This is getting too easy - Every Katz/Leonard endorsemetn crosses them off my list.

Katz the perenial political zombie....why doesn't she just shut up?!

I forget. Is this a real or fake election?

Re. endorsements, I see that Fireman Randy has endorsed Jefferson Smith.

East Coaster Oregon House Speaker Katz at the time represented an attack by the worst people the left had to offer Oregon.
Her tenure in office will go down in infamy as an era of rampant cronyism, ineptness, public-private schemes and Urban Renewal scams run amok.
She should shut her pie hole in disgrace. :)
I mean really. How can she possibly be so shameless as to recommend someone like herself? Does Katz think Adams has been good for Portland?

Tre Arrow would be no worse than any of them.

Wow. Vera Katz's endorsements have about as much intristic value as Jeffrey Dahmer's restaurant reviews.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if the Irish mob had won the turf war here in P-town back in the day?

Might have been a whole lot less banks and bonds...

S.M. Stirling had the right idea regarding Vera.

Caught Mary Nolan's 1-on-1 KGW's Sunday night replay -- I don't know which was more outstanding:

1) her phoniness;

2) her smugness; or

3) her bad ideas (starting with resurrecting "The Sustainability Center" like she was Doctrinairess Frankenstein).

Give me the Nurse over The Doctrinairess, any day.

Voting for Amanda is a matter of examining the whole. Sure, there are positions and votes that I can't fathom why/how.

She supported Sam's deceptions and lies. She's lead the Equity Bureau quest. Has famous quotes supporting Milwaukie Lightrail, and several more mind-numbing positions. Supported LO Streetcar-with some questions.

But she has questioned and voted against water/sewer spending. She voted against the SoWhat ICE Jail. Questioned urban renewal and sometimes voted against parts of it. Questioned and voted against the PSU Sustainable Center. Questioned and voted against PGE Park second round.

On whole, her stances and votes far exceed the obscure positions of Nolan.

Now, ask both what their position is on the proposed Barbur/99 Lightrail. Do they even believe in citizen input and would they support a vote? Better yet would they ask the Council to put it on the ballot?

Judging by Vera's consistent return to Portland politics, it's obvious that "Portlandia" isn't the cable show that best sums up the city. There's a scene from a more appropriate one that will probably sum up the next mayoral election, involving Andrew Lincoln and his horse coming around a corner in downtown Atlanta.
