More trouble for Vestas

Just what they don't need at this point.

And, on Monday the Solar Trust of America LLC went bankrupt. $2.1 billion dollars of taxpayer money goes Phfffffft!

I'm not worried. The Portland tax/rate payer will bail them out.

When a company's entire financial performance is dependent on the kindnes of strangers (aka weak-minded politicians using our tax monies), did you expect much credibility as far as earning a profit?

I'm still wondering why they don't use hydraulic fluids (vegetable oil perhaps) to transfer the blade power to a ground based generator.

Every transfer of power means a loss in effeciency. Wind power is already so ineffecient they can't afford to lose anymore.

The entire "alternative" energy industry continues to falter financially; yet Obama and the eco-loons continue to pump more money into these failing companies. Just one more reason why my entire family will not be voting for Obama in November.

Good point.

And given how much kindness we will get from Canada after yesterday's meeting between their leader and Obama, we will have to compete with China for local oil. WTF is up with that?

Green energy sucks taxpayer dollars down the toilet.
Oil pipeline gets canceled, so no local oil from our friends up North.
China's demand will suck up the supplies.
The oil cartel hates America.

"Under my plan energy prices would necessarily skyrocket!"

Solar Trust of America is the latest to go bankrupt - taxpayers are on the hook to the tune of $2.1 billion for this one. Makes Solyndra look like a good deal!

EPA has just banned coal for power plants, so we'll ship it to China where they can burn it less efficiently.

Yup, let's re-elect Barry.

Looking at this video the grass is green and lush. Wonder what happens with a similar incident in a dryer climate with higher winds? Do the environmental impact studies even give thought to this happening and a resulting wild fire?

Just as hydro turbines extract kinetic energy from natural flowing waterways and create problems downstream, I have yet to hear anyone even ask whether or not these giant windfarms being planned/built are going to affect natural airflow patterns and possibly weather when they do the same thing.
