Just a fine and fancy ramble
The summer zoo concert lineup is out, and there are quite a few fine-looking dates on it. Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang together; Rosanne Cash and Madeleine Peyroux; Robert Randolph; k.d.; Ladysmith Black Mambazo; Ziggy... and Chicago! Haven't seen them on stage in around 40 years.
Time to break out the calendar, Honey -- we've got to catch at least a couple of these shows.

Buddy Guy. Last heard him 31 years ago on the southside. After the show the locals walked us white boys to our car so there wouldn't be any trouble that might cut into repeat business.

A good lineup and it's a service of Metro too. Who'd a thought?
Cheers.

And hey, Jim & The Snarks, too! Isn't that special?

It will be, despite the taint you bring with flack for your employer. And it's "thunk", not "thought"...
...nevermind.

Metropolitan Service District changed their name to Metro after they got tired of all the locals making cracks about being "serviced".
As well, when the concert series started up, MSD got all miffed that their logo wasn't on the bus-banners - they actually sent Jack McGowan, the PR guy for the zoo, a rubber stamp with the logo and told him to stamp all the posters, as I recall. And they directed that the Metro logo be placed on all further concert promotional materials.
It was. I think it took them three or four years to catch onto the fact that the logo mysteriously always just happened to be located directly under the butt of the featured animal.
