I gotta say, I love using Facebook, but it freaks me out a little bit when my ipad aps have fb links, and people are following me on Pinterest who would only have known via fb connecting us. I am consciously trying to keep my fb world as disconnected from the rest of my online world as possible, but I know it's a losing battle.
A creepy fb moment: fb suggested my down-the-street neighbor as a potential friend. We have no other friends in common, no schools/organizations/political views in common...nothing except where we live. How'd they do that???

I'm still amazed that that many people are will to put that much personal information for FREE on FaceBook.
You know as well as I do the next step for income is targeted mailing lists.

I visit my Facebook page (which I can’t kill) and don’t find any ads. Zip! Therefore, I must assume nobody wants to sell me anything. Not even a mattress retailer. I’m crushed.

If the Occupy Wall Street people and their supporters really wanted to do something noticeable, they would all close their Facebook accounts the week before the IPO. That would be sticking it to the 1%.

FB keeps suggesting a rather distant professional acquaintance of mine to friend as well, Michelle. We have no friends in common and the only way I can think that they are suggesting him is because he is in my Contacts on my iPhone. I have never given FB permission to access that info to my knowledge and even set up a special email account that i have usde for nothing else other than to sign-up to FB.
Weird. Five years ago I would have freaked out about this. Well actually, five years ago I didn't even have a FB account for fear of this type of thing. Now, I'm not so excited. Though I probably should be. Those damn slippery slopes sure do lull you into complacency, huh?
