Death rattle for Blazers' season

And it's no doubt head coach Nate McMillan's last. But hey, Steve Blake's coming back! Pity the season ticket holders.

I was just reading some of the coverage and John Canzano really ticked me off. How's this for some original writing on the possibility of the Blake trade:

"A move such as this amounts to re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic."

Wow, you have the nerve to cash a paycheck based on that hack B.S.? I had 2 lines on national TV tonight but can I get a job writing in the Rose City? Of course not.

Meanwhile I have to read stale crap like that from Canzano and get this: He's complaining about other people's lack of game.

Sorry, the 42-point loss has clearly put me in a bad mood. Never mind.

Dre loved his shots, but he was street savvy with some serious heart--you never doubted he wanted to win come playoff time. Felton is getting the blame for the team's rapid demise, rightly. I didn't like the trade, but accepted that I was probably wrong as I tend to get attached to players with heart. However he's been a clear disaster who doesn't seem to give a f..k. I just hope Paul hasn't totally given up, cause who else do we have who cares to stay here? Knight? unlikely

Trading Miller was dopey. But hey, Paul Allen has a tradition of dopiness to uphold.

Allen's tanking it so he can move to Seattle. Dear god, it can't be taht difficult to find a GM for a team like the Blazers. Heck Charlotte has a GM.

As far as Nate, they need to make a decision to either get half-court players or get another coach. They aren't meshing right now (42 pt blowouts notwithstanding.)

I never understood the Blazer coaching/GM transitions...... Well, actually I think I do. Gates and Ballmer saw the problem before anyone else.

I knew Blake would be back somehow. He offers that occasional tease unrealized promise that fits in so well with the Blazer culture. Wrong move, of course.

Can we put Dan Dickau back on the court? He's already in the fold, and he played for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (great name) as recently as 2010.

I've never seen a Blazer team tank so fast and so far. There were worse teams, and excruciating playoff collapses, but I can't recall a team with this much talent just giving up half way through the season. From 7-2 out of the blocks to a 40 pt. thrashing by the Knicks. Glad now it's a shortened season.

Your prediciton came true about MacMillan a bit early.

McMillan

I was never a big McMillan fan but the problems with the Blazers go higher than him.

More than a few fans, including this one, won't be renewing our tickets. An utter lack of direction, lack of effort, quit by at least some of the team. The cost of one TB seat will buy me ten years of a half season of Winterhawks seats, plus some play-off games. See ya, Paul - good luck with that move.
