A voice of authority

Guess all those heavy rains today overtaxed the combined sewer outfall.

Or the work for the new bridge punched a hole in the pipe. Naaah, I saw the utility locate guy out in a rowboat spray painting the lines on the water.

Sam should know.

Sewage leak, what Sam went swimming in the Willamette?

I came here to post what Phil said.

If we're lucky, President Obama will offer Sam Adams a job at DoT and we'll be able to quit reading about him here.

I still wonder if he does his own tweeting or whether his adoring staffers do it for him. The fawning cretins at the Willamette Week apparently think he does his own tweeting, and they're impressed by it. On some of their dispensary bins downtown, there's a fun, wacky image of the mayor accompanied by some fun, wacky text saying "Sam Adams knows how to use Twitter! The next mayor might #FAIL!"

So precious, no?

I'm having fun imagining all the jobs Sam could do in the Obama administration:

*Press Secretary, twittering away

*National Weather Service liaison, wearing his hat and reminding people to stay safe when snow is forecasted

*Housing Secretary, creating row houses and condo bunkers from sea to shining sea

*Transportation Czar, bringing light rail to the grateful masses

*Head of the environmental department, mandating food composting/urban chickens/elimination of plastic bags

Ummmm...maybe this isn't so funny any more.

Michelle, we already have Dallas's own former idiot Mayor, Ron Kirk, on the team. I don't think any administration, even during the Bush II years, could handle two such blatant sycophants. (Actually, you guys almost have it easy. We came close to being bankrupted when Kirk tried to buy Dallas's way into the 2012 Olympics, before taking a dive in the 2002 Senate race against John "Man on Box Turtle" Cornyn. Unlike Kirk, Sam can occasionally say something in public without his boss's hand up his butt to make his lips move.)

Why is this any of Sam's daily business or tweeting about it a good use of his time?

Re: "Sewage leak into the Willamette River just north of the Sellwood Bridge at the foot of Spokane Street."

Shouldn't this suggest to a rational person that our already exorbitant sewage fees be reserved for the apparently incomplete redesign and repair of our sewer system? That is, that use of revenue extorted from ratepayers should never be contemplated for any other use, especially for such a dubious gambit as a risk-subsidized biogas facility.

And shouldn't this also suggest to a rational person that citizen oversight and city supervision of management of the redesign and repair of our sewage system has proved considerably less than necessary. That is, we have not obtained what we continue to finance.
