Love, Portlandia style
The naked, bound, and gagged girlfriend in the back seat was one way to celebrate Valentine's Day, but the cow heart on the front porch was quite another.

Hey, Jack! Here's another film, an indie, that I suggest you check out. I was the on-set tutor for this one, so I saw a bit of the behind the scenes stuff. My Best Day was invited to Sundance this year! If you get a chance, check it out.

Yeah. Those scenarios would make for interesting movie bits, too. Truth is stranger than fiction.

And I've been using chocolate and jewelery all these years.
I shoulda known TODAY'S woman prefers zip ties and duct tape.
I gotta try changing with the times.
They seem like THE perfect couple... a sadist and a masochist.

What kind of person would witness this and only call the police? Don't get involved Portland.

First story has all the makings of a wrongful arrest claim. Bet those charges have already been dropped.

I suspect andrew would be just as incredulous if someone phoned in a report like this and the police didn't respond with every available resource to stop a possible abduction.
I think they should treat this couple the same way they should treat stranded hikers on Mt. Hood. Respond to the emergency and then send them a bill for the cost of responding.

Boy, don't those mug shots just say everything. We all see a few people like them every day in the course of our business...the facial expression somewhere east of cocky, west of paranoid, and way, way up the pole in their brain.

Well panchopdx, I would expect the police to respond and once they determine no crime was committed, let it go rather than make an arrest for pissing off the cops. Remember these people didn't initiate the 911 call, didn't hold up a sign saying "Help, I'm being kidnapped", etc.
It's the same with the open carry (of firearms) people. If they're doing so legally, the police really don't have a basis for arrest, even if concerned citizens phone 911 and a car has to respond and check it out.
Likewise, if some well intentioned third party reports stranded hikers when those hikers aren't stranded, don't need rescue, and didn't call for help, then those hikers shouldn't be billed either.

The guy is really lucky some good samaritan didn't grab him out of the car and give him an old fashioned beat down before the truth were revealed.
