Interstate freeway bridge cost: $208 million

We spent a lot of yesterday in the 'Couv, which meant driving over the bridge on I-5 a couple of times. The new bridge is a beauty. It's hard to believe it cost only $208 million to build.

They must use a different currency over there, or fewer fingers in the pie.

Jack, are you sure those figures aren't in thousands of dollars?

That's the money spent just on planning.

Darn,I was planning on crossing the river to buy beer that is not sold in Oregon. I will have to avoid the traffic caused by the "new" bridge...

And to think for $208 million, you'd think they'd at least patch up the paint a little bit...

I would have been willing to plan the new bridge for a flat $200M. They could've saved $8M.

We've got $200 million more to waste to catch up to the SR520 floating bringe planning coffee klatch.

bringe=bridge

Next time you're up there, take a walk on the "land bridge" over SR 14 between Fort Vancouver and the river. It's neat.
