Another Saturday night and I ain't got no points

It hasn't been a great year for underdogs in the American pro football ranks, and neither of today's pooches came close to pulling off a victory. This leaves many of our players empty-handed for the week, but more than half of our field is riding on tomorrow's games, particularly Denver hosting the Steelers in the later contest. Condolences to the Saturdogs.

I would have liked to see Detroit get that touchdown on the fumble return, but the ref blew his whistle so what can you do?
It would have been a more interesting game to have the Lions up 21-7.
Not that the outcome would be different. Drew Brees is playing out of his mind right now.

And he had forever to throw the ball all day, which really let him cut loose. Not sure how far the Saints' defense is going to go, though.

Yeah, Bill. And the Lions let at least 2 timely interceptions slip through their hands before the game got out of hand. Was interesting until about 4 mins were left in the game. The Lions should never have attempted that onside kick. Fin.

I like the Saints to make it to Indy for the championship -- the 49ers' pass defense ranked below the 2-14 Colts, at #16. The Packers are ranked dead last. Opening lines so far have the Saints as 3.5 point favorites over SF.

Houston looked impressive in its win over the visiting Bengals. They capitalized on their takeaway opportunities. Sets up a good ol' clash next week in Baltimore. Maybe T.J. will come through in this year of the successful rookie QB. Early lines on that game have the Ravens favored by 7 to 9 pts.

Meanwhile, the Giants-Falcons game should be a good one.

And, the Broncos have been making contingency plans this past week in case Tebow gets smashed out of the game by LB Lawrence Timmons (or James "Silverback" Harrison) during one of Tebow's locomotive breath sprint outs --

Broncos are prepared to yank Tebow, if he struggles against Steelers

Then again, it might just be some psyops by Coach Fox to inspire Tebow to "pull the trigger" and make timely outlet passes to the TE and RBs --

I'd like (need) to change my vote in your Reader poll: Who will win Super Bowl 46?

Argh. Stupid Atlanta. Can't stand She-lie Manning. Go Steelers!

Whohoo. "mile-high magic"

All of the home teams win! And a "Wow!" in Denver.
