Adventures in Agnewland

Here are some public-private real estate development partnerships that have been in the news lately back east. Interesting reading, indeed.

"The Wire" was fiction. Really!

Meanwhile, back in Oregon City and in Josephine County, the "developers" have 2 elected officials recalled today.

Too bad there isn't some investigating going on here in Oregon!
The prison at Sheridan could fill up quickly.

I doubt anything like that will happen here in the SS Green and Sustainable, especially with a politically friendly administration in the White House.

What I meant was, I doubt any sort of investigation would occur.

There's a reason why the two-party system is held out as a small "d" democratic ideal. It contemplates successive alternating iterations in power, each party keeping the other in check. When the two-party system goes by the wayside and one party dominates, as is usually the case in municipalities, corruption ensues, predictably.

Well, I guess explains the oligarchy that has Portland by the throat.
