I doubt anything like that will happen here in the SS Green and Sustainable, especially with a politically friendly administration in the White House.

There's a reason why the two-party system is held out as a small "d" democratic ideal. It contemplates successive alternating iterations in power, each party keeping the other in check. When the two-party system goes by the wayside and one party dominates, as is usually the case in municipalities, corruption ensues, predictably.
