Moonbeam wants to cut public pensions
It's the right thing to do, of course, but watch the unions scream bloody murder. And it's a good thing old Jerry isn't planning on running for another term. He'd be Greg Macphersoned.

would end so-called pension "spiking"
If they could end that practice of using the last year income to determine benefits, that'd save a bunch immediately. Unfortunately, most of the fixes are for new employees and won't affect payouts until 40 years from now, so we're still on the downhill slope.

Change is coming to P-town as well.
The unions will squeal like little piglets, but change is coming to Oregon, just like CA and WI.

I was pretty disappointed to see a liberal retread like Brown get re-elected, but he has been doing some good non-hippie things down here.

The smarter liberals like Jerry have started to figure out that something has to be done. He is bright enough to look at a pension payout chart and see that the end is coming.
At the moment it appears that only about 10% of the elected Democrats are actually smart enough to read the charts but that is a start.
Check out the waves that Rahm is making in Chicago. Rahm taking on the unions in Chicago caught me by surprise. I figured he was just part of the Chicago machine like his buddy Barry, but evidently Rahm has other plans. Rahm is actually threating to take on the garbage collection union. He'll be lucky if he doesnt' end up in the same place as Hoffa.
