Elieen Brady would kill Portland leaf tax
And Streetcar Hales would keep it. Jeffer-Sam Smith doesn't care enough to respond to the City Hall reporter's question.
And so the choice becomes a little clearer.

Ok but which one is going to keep the 24 cents of every property tax dollar that goes to Urban Renewal debt from getting worse.
Are none of these candidates going to address anything significant?
Is none of the press going to ask them about the city's finances and plans they may change?
Where is the media? There are Haliburtons and Cheneys running everything in sight around here and lining their pockets.
What the heck is going on. Is the entire press completely duped or deliberately covering for them?

Brady seems to be the only candidate that listens to the 90 percent of Portlanders who are sickened by SamRandHalesSten's excesses.

Ben - mostly covering for them.
Same circles, et al.

Hey I'm Ben.
And that wasn't me responding to myself.
Or was it????
Nope.
Maybe that other Ben can be Benn?

I clicked onto CoP's leaf website and found that most of the leaf pickup districts are everything but westside Portland, especially SW. What gives?
Well, I guess most westside streets don't have any curbs, or improved streets enabling sweeping. But we sure have trees. Maybe the city should do some street improvements to capture the great profits in leaf pickup. Forget putting in sidewalks, we don't walk over here, just drive and bike. But for bikers we like the pothole obstacle courses.

Ben or Ben,
...I think deliberately covering for them.
There is no way across the board that investigative journalism has essentially been put to a halt other than that reason.
The media for the most part, except some small independent press, has been bought by and supports those who rule.

When it comes to the priorities and mentality of Portland's news media, don't forget that just this past week the "breaking news" lead story on KGW's evening news (and perhaps other stations, as well) was all about "Mango" the dog getting loose on I-84, complete with live helicopter coverage in HD. There was even a follow-up story the next day.

Having been caught in the traffic jam that resulted from the freeway dog, I'm only sorry that some enterprising Big Rig didn't make a Mango Smoothy.
It's also remarkable to me that the State of Washington is adding lanes to their interstates and highways while Portland devotes their billions to steel-wheeled transit.
It took me 50 minutes to travel 11 miles from Tigard to Vancouver this morning. And hyar 12 minutes to travel the next 13 miles (mostly in Vancouver).
