Pet peeve
You get a spam e-mail message, you click on "unsubscribe," you have to click again saying you're sure you want to unsubscribe, and then the infernal thing sends you another e-mail message telling you you just unsubscribed. Wish there were some way to fight back.

And then you have to repeat the whole process 2 or 3 times. Seems it rarely works the first time for me.

Set up an email filter that searches for "unsubscribe" and send all that stuff to the trash. No more spam in your inbox.

Don't forget the wounded "Are you sure?" message in the middle there, as if you somehow landed on the page by accident, or decided to have a change of heart.

Don't forget that some of the SPAM offers an "unsubscribe" link to verify email addresses.
Nice way for those email address harvesters to capture more addresses to resell or distribute.
If you don't recall ever subscribing to the website or service, best to never click on the unsubscribe in the first place.
Using a filter to file away suspect messages is a nice tip, too.

Not to mention the unsubscribe page that offers multiple-choice checkoffs that unsubscribe from some limited portion of their spam feed, but omit the obvious "unsubscribe from all" choice.

I've been getting fairly good results with the Unsubscribe.com service, which is free. They handle the unsubscribing process for you, and flag any suspicious messages that may just be trying to harvest addresses.
