Juicy Rumor of the Month

It's probably not true. It can't be true. But then again, at Portland City Hall, anything's possible.

We have heard, from a source that is not always 100% reliable, that a high-profile city bureau chief is about to step down. We won't name the official, since we have no corroboration of the rumor. But has anyone else out there heard the same thing?

No idea, but I am curious about what's going to happen to all of Randy's lackies if he steps down.

He likes to reward fealty instead of actual job skills, so they may it tough finding a non-patronage job.

Based on your first two sentences - Shaff?

Good I hope they all step down.

Homeland security is doing a sting on all of your sources. Just "being" a trusted rumor librarian is punishable by bureaucrat.

Let's all go pee up at Mt Tabor and then make the whole bunch go swimming!

'Stepping down' or 'jumping ship'?

Odds are on Shaff...he's met his PERS goal, and PWB contract quota for his engineer buddy. Laughing all the way to the bank at our expense.

Waterboarding anyone?

Surely it will be one of Leonard's bureaus. He will appoint one of his City Hall staffers as a replacement. They need a warm nest to settle into before Randy hits the road.

Turley/BOEC

Unfortunately, Paul Scarlett (BDS) probably doesn't fit the "high profile" description.

Wouldn't it be nice to send all the "high profile" ones on a sabbatical and let the workers who want to do the right thing do so, but are afraid to speak for fear of losing their jobs. . especially in these economic times.

Is there a "high profile" one that someone here thinks should stay?
