How government works
You give the corporate types what they want, and then you go work for them.
It's similar to what happens in mainstream media in Portland: You "cover" the politicians for a while, then go work for them.
Rinse and repeat.

Sam's setting the bar for this, he has 3 on his staff:
Amy Ruiz
Caryn Brooks
Cary Clarke
All ex-writers for the WWeek. Besides Nigel Jacquiss (now watch him become Randy's chief of staff) why would you trust anyone from the Third Estate in this town?

Steve is right on, the Newsies give Gubberment what they want and good things happen . . . for them.
Once upon a time they only shielded the Big Advertisers but now with retail in the tank its all for the PERS pickers.

LETS NOT FORGET MATT BROWN AND MR. RHODES FROM PDOT, WHOSE LIES ON THE TRAM LED TO BROWN WORKING FOR HOMER AND RHODES TO A SWEET DEAL ON THE TROLLY. I COULD GO ON FOR PARAGRAPHS JUST FOR PORTLAND, THEN A SMALL NOVEL FOR THE GOLDSCHMIDT GANG. THE FAIRY TALE THAT IS OREGON
