Greetings from Klickitat Street
We missed it, but Beverly Cleary, a Portland girl who done good, turned 95 yesterday. Best wishes to her from her old stomping grounds.

Nicholas Kristof
Beverly Cleary (from my hometown of Yamhill, Oregon!) is the best author since, say, Homer http://nyti.ms/dEYMOc
I copied from Nicholas Kristof's tweet.

I lived on 86th. And I vaguely recall the name. But I went to school in the 50's and 60's (then off to Marines). I have since read about her. Impressive.

In the third grade, thanks to my teacher Mrs. Simmons and Beverly Cleary I learned that reading was fun and not just a chore. Many Thanks to two great ladies.
