Another day, another gang shooting in Portland
This one might get someone's attention at City Hall -- it was on Williams Avenue. It could have hit a cyclist!

Sounds like children of the disenfranchised are getting fed up with imposed designer living.

I should add that I am in no way trying to minimize what may be another tragedy.

We haven't seen anything yet. This is not local... the kids know it and the cops know it. AND everybody (you, me and the bad guys) know that Mr. Sam doesn't have the balls or brains to do anything about it.Who comes from out of state to shoot an 14 year old kid?

Unfortunately, I don't think anything is going to happen to stop this insanity until truly innocent (and to be clear, I'm not saying anyone deserves to die in a senseless gang war, but that life is a choice that has consequences) person is hurt/killed and the city has no choice but to do something. Two broad daylight shootings in a week makes me think that sad day is coming soon. Bullets don't have names on them - it's still unclear whether Shiloh Hampton and this victim were actually targets, but stray bullets flying though commuter busses/near a mall? Nobody is safe in that type of chaos. Can't wait for Sam to blame this one on guns and ignore the real problem here, gangs.

I saw a trendoid with a pooch and BIG white sunglasses ( a Paris Hilton wannabe) interviewed on the news about the shooting. The first thing that popped out of her mouth was - "Guns. It'sabout the guns. We just have to get rid of them.".
I'll bet Sam's response will be to push his inane ban on handguns. I don't expect anything insightful or with a reasonable chance of working to be suggested by anyone in city hall no matter how bad things get. Long hot summer ahead.
