Just beautiful. Reminds me of my elegant grandmother who used to listen to Tony and all the greats while quietly tending her rose garden in her senior years. I imagine she had romantic memories of earlier years tied to songs like this. I miss her.

This was Tony in the early '90s, just about the time I was discovering him. I'd like to say "rediscovered," but that would be a lie, since he was always overshadowed by Frank. The Mrs. and I saw him at the Schnitz in around '93 -- unforgettable. He still had it at that point, pushing 70. Tony's still around, although at 84 I don't know if he can still knock out those operatic notes to close off a classic song. To me he's one of the great Americans alive today. Benedetto, from Queens. God bless him.
And that Ralph Sharon, who was playing piano with him, was a true master as well. Just look at those guys at work. May I ever do my job so well.
