What a fascinating read. I've wondered about taking a kayak trip along Hanford Reach. The no camping rule all but eliminates that as any sort of a fun recreational activity - as would a 16 foot rise in the water level. Also, the radioactivity of coyote hummers is a scarey testament to the lasting impact of 19-century-style handling of radioactive waste. Maybe I don't want to kayak there...
Thanks for posting.

Entertaining and amazingly slanted with enough bodily functions to read like the WW.

We kayaked the Hanford reach last August with Columbia Riverkeeper staff. The night before the paddle, we camped near the Vernita bridge. It a scenic educational trip. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
