Here is an article about the $120 million it cost to refurbish the aircraft carrier Intrepid to the satisfaction of the US Navy. The Navy has also ordered the carrier Yorktown in Charleston, SC to be refurbished or scrapped.

I like the idea in general, but where is this money going to come from in the future if it costs this much to maintain the Ranger?
