Why on earth would the bikes ruin the story for anyone? I know there's a lot of bike hatred here, but seriously?

Seriously? No, Sarcasm? Yes.
Don't tell anyone but I actually own a bike, and I actually ride it. Maybe not to work but for fun and exercise. I love it. I also own a car, I drive it to work and shopping. I also love it. I have great respect for those who ride their bikes all or most of the time, just not my thing. The radical bike culture and their need to ruin driving for us automobile owners gets me down a little, hence the harmless sarcasm.
