After 35 minutes I had to give it up. Not everyone in Portland works downtown. Just across the bridge is the Rivergate Industrial Park with some 80 companies in the area. Twenty-five percent of the employees who work there live in Clark County yet Trimet's service to the area is pathetic at best.

Vancouver needs to give up the Pearson Airport and Portland needs to give up on light rail. Taxpayers are not going to give up the dollars needed to build an adequate alternative transportation system and the sooner the dunderheads in charge realize that they have to look at bringing private investors into the market and allowing them to have an opportunity the better everyone will be. Private transportation services and contracting the services out work in other place including New Jersey and as well in northern Europe. Why not here? Sometime there are problems and nothing is perfect but to steal a phrase used elsewhere markets are like parachutes. They work best when the are open.
