I heard some other things about this urban renewal proposal. First, Tualitin wanted to create a town center, but strangely, were proposing to put the center near Bridgeport Villa which doesn't seem all that blighted to say the least and moreover, seems fairly removed from the old Tualitin town center. Second, the Tualitin mayor reportedly got very angry at the new Fire Department chief who probably thought about the proposal for ten seconds and didn't think much of it and declined to support it.
