Woo hoo! I mean, aw crap.
The good news: The Blazers beat the Lakers in L.A. this afternoon!
The bad news: They're MRI-ing Brandon Roy's knee tonight.

If you went to Friday's game DAL vs. PDX .. and after watching the 4th quarter and you can tell me that the NBA refs working that game are not biased (i.e. can be bought off to throw a game .. for $75,000 gross per ref, no need to report it taxwise, we'll pay you soon lol).. then explain to us all pray tell why did we see what we saw.

Whew....I just read it's a bone bruise. We'll see if it's a lingering problem, but it could have been an outright season ender.

They beat the Lakers without him -- also a good sign.
This team got so much better when Outlaw and Blake left, and Miller and Camby got here. You couldn't have asked for a better change in personnel.

I don't read the sports blogs, but I imagine there is all sorts of wailing and kvetching going on over the Dallas game. It appears the Mavs want to prove they are not the soft patsies of yesteryear. I was hoping Nate would send in Pendergraph with instructions on where to place an well-timed elbow on Dirk Nowitski.
I got ridiculous when Jason Terry pummeled Batum not once, but twice and Batum got called for a foul. Well, actually, it got ridiculous before then.

Sounds like the MRI only showed a bone bruise, he won't play Monday night. Probably isn't a bad thing for Roy to get a little rest right now anyways.

Wow, 6 through 8 tied out West (as is 3-5) with the Thunder in town tomorrow.
Of course, it's only to determine match-ups and out West that's like picking your poison anyway.
I'd prefer not playing the Lakers in the playoffs. The Blazers could beat them, but I believe watching LA play costs us a piece of our souls.
Phil Jackson, Kobe, Derek Fisher, and on and on. It's like a science fiction experiment from the lab of Satan.
Go Blazers.

The Lakers clearly threw that game. They don't want to see us in the playoffs. And I don't blame them.
On another note, we want to throw tonight's game. That's right, I'll be rooting for a Blazer loss tonight. We do not want to play Denver in the playoffs. They'll beat us in 5. They have our number. It would be great to play LA (We owe them one) or Dallas instead.

How many free throws does Kobe miss at the end of the game over an entire season? Probably as many as he missed yesterday in one game. Very curious, though he did sit out the previous two games.
And, yes, I was at the Dallas game, I have reffed basketball many, many years, and I don't boo the refs. But, Friday night I did. Just too many odd calls against the Blazers, including the call against Batum mentioned earlier. Foul across Rudy's head, no call; two guys hammering on Roy, the ball goes out of bounds, ball to Dallas; yet someone waves at Dirk and he's at the line shooting two. The teams brought their play-off games; the refs were letting everything go at the 4th grade CYO game.
