Reader poll: How far will the Blazers get?
The Blazers have a pretty nice draw in the playoffs: Suns in the first round, Spurs or Mavs in the second. How far do you think they'll get?

We can take the Suns, Dallas and San Antonio. This is good. We can do this.

Usual Kevin,
Love the attitude. I've been moping that Brandon's injury is really the first big injury of next season. Microfracture surgery anyone?
But where's that kind of thinking at? Nowhere.
Your assessment snapped me back to where we should be. I pity the Western Conference when we get our hands on them.
Denver, Utah and LA caught a tremendous break not having to face us.
Go Blazers.

Any chance of adding a "I don't care" to the response list?
Thanks

That really hurts your credibility in these parts.

I'm with Bill on this one.
Go Blazers.

Think they might beat Phoenix if they are on top of their game. But have to say they looked HORRIBLE in the fourth quarter against Golden State last night.

If we had Roy at full health, I'd give them an even shot at beating the Suns. But with an injured Roy, I'm guessing Suns in 6. I hope I'm wrong. Go Blazers!

"But have to say they looked HORRIBLE in the fourth quarter against Golden State last night."
They played their third string in the 4th quarter--Travis Weiner and Paddy Mills. Actually Mills looked OK, but we should foreswear ever signing another player named Travis.
Sitll, it was embarrassing losing to a team that didn't have enough players to play the whole game.
The big key in the Suns matchup will be Nash vs. Miller. Nash is older, but quicker. Miller, however, may take advantage of Nash's weak defense and score a lot of pinball wizard layups. The other key is if Aldridge can contain Stoudamire, and on that, I'm not too hopeful.

First Game: Nash, in trying to defend against Miller's drives to the basket will get his third foul and a thigh bruise at 10:29 in the second quarter. He'll sit until 11:31 of the third period when Phoenix is down 9 points.

I hope Aldridge will get help on D from Camby and Batum, both of whom are the long arm of the law, literally!
To me the key is going to be the offense in the last five minutes of the game. Without giving it to B-Roy and getting out of the way, what are the Blazers going to do? It used to be to kick out to Outlaw. That's not the answer now, thank goodness.
It can't be Dre throwing up one of his knuckleballs. LaMarcus has to stop hiding in the fourth quarter and take a few big shots. That will draw defense and open guys up down the stretch in later games. And not only do you have to have *a* plan for that situation. In a playoff series, you have to have several ready to go, and keep the other side guessing.
Webster is another clutch shot possibility.
At least one game against Phoenix is going to be won or lost in the last minute. A dunk by Camby at the buzzer would be a nice way to win a game like that.
