I suspect John Stewart prays for a Palin/Bachmann ticket every night.

Sarah Palin campaigned for Michele Bachmann in Minnesota the other day and Sean Hannity also showed up.
It was the biggest gathering of Republican brainpower since Joe the Plumber scratched his nut sack.

Palin: "As I have said, I'm not gonna close any doors that perhaps would be open. Michele and I both, we have strong faith that we, fighting as hard as we can for our country and supporting those who share our values, share our principles -- and at the same time, putting our lives in God's hands, and asking him for direction and wisdom. That's where we're gonna go."
That might just be asking too much of Him.
Bachmann: "...I want to thank Gov. Palin for breaking the barrier by being a woman as the vice president on the ticket."
That barrier was already broken by Geraldine Ferraro, 26 years ago. So much for her knowledge of political history.

espiritu santo dominus est, or whatever...this would be the straw that would break the back of the two-party system.
For this, I will start praying again.

I recall being heartened that a former alcoholic, rumored ex-drug user, rumored deserter, with a well-documented history of business failure who provided no evidence of having even an average intellect was running against Al Gore.
Be careful what you wish for.

Unfortunately, the Ds have shown time and again quite the penchant for shooting themselves in the foot - and elsewhere.

And if your prayers are answered, may I be stuck blind and deaf just for the term of the election, so I don't gouge out my own ear drums, and sew my eyelids shut.

Hey, let's recruit them, and make Ann Coulter their press secretary. Then all we need is Sigourney Weaver, a forklift, and an open airlock.

Texas,
Very funny line. Even better if it's original. I disagree they are the intellectual midgets they have been potrayed as, but Palin is clearly unprepared for National Office. I would love watching her on a hunting show, just to hear urban Americans whine about it.
I don't know much about Rep. Bachmann, but with leadership like Pelosi/Reid and numb-Chucks Schumer/Rangel as the national standard bearers, the hurdle has been set quite low.
