A perfect audience for Gatsby
Senator Ron Wyden (R-N.Y.) will be touting his new bi-partisan tax plan today before the arch-conservative Heritage Foundation. Maybe that will stop them from writing checks to the campaign war chest of Jim Huffman (who was once a resident scholar at Heritage).

I've always thought Ron was a pretty good politician, but he may have lost a step. I sent him what I thought was a thoughtful letter almost a month ago on an important aspect of tax policy (at least important to me and my business). I didn't expect he'd necessarily agree with me, or even that he'd respond personally, but I thought maybe a staffer would at least respond. I didn't get any response at all-not even a form letter or form email. He'll probably pull off the election, since he had a D after his name in Oregon (everywhere but BoJack.org), but it was surprising that he just completely blew off a constituent who took the time to communicate to him, based on how good his office used to be. Well Huffman's video was certainly enlightening. Unfortunately, having watched it, I'm not sure whether I'm being asked to vote for his father or his wife for U.S. Senate. They said as little about the issues and the actual work of a United States Senator as Huffman did and I kinda liked the way his father looked in uniform and his wife seems like a good cook. Huffman, on the other hand has a beard and beards kinda creep me out. So until Huffman actually steps up to the plate and articulates in a meaningful manner why he wishes to join the U.S. Senate Republican obstruction machine and make his contribution to the breakdown of good governance in the US, I'll go with his family members.

Disregard my prior comment. I received a thoughtful response from Senator Wyden this afternoon.
