He *is* the law, I guess

Many people are unaware that the City of Portland is the only city in the United States to require that all diesel sold in the city limits contain a minimum blend of 5% biodiesel, which is commonly referred to as "B5." Commissioner Leonard authored and passed this law in 2006, and in July of 2007, the law went into effect and all diesel fuel pumps in the city began dispensing biodiesel.
All by himself, he passed the law?

Randy has the biggest little man complex I have ever seen. When he was a kid he must have really been picked on. Reminds me of those Charles Atas 97lb weakling cartoons in the 1950's Popular Science magazines.

Next up: Arm the station attendants.

Yes, it does seem that Leonard gave up a lot of lunch money as a kid and it's turned him into something ugly ever since.

Now that Tri-Met is backing off the WES, do we dare dream of sanity re: agrofuels? As in, not buying any except biodiesel from recycled waste veggie oil, with NO price premium paid.

Yeah, except that the *entire state of Minnesota* requires the same thing, for example:

And Louisiana, New Mexico, all require that diesel be B2 or higher. And several other states have it in the works or already passed but in process of implementation.

The truth is, most diesel sold in the US is already B2-5. It's just not that big of a deal.

But the real problem is: biodiesel is nonsense, and doesn't, as Leonard claims, "reduce our reliance on foreign petroleum interests". He made that up, because it sounds good. The economic "success" he claims so much credit for is, again, largely fiction.

"All by himself, he passed the law?"

I believe it was just after he walked across the Willamette and raised the dead person beneath the neon rose.

Don't doubt our Dear Father and Great Leader Kim Il Leonard!!!

Why oh why do I picture Randy filling in for a certain British comic book character? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itmNiTwHOsM
