No way out
When they put one of those gizmos in your car that track your every move in order to tax you for moving, you'll still be able to protect your privacy by taking mass transit, right?

I used to run a phone room for several businesses... the telecom guy we had at one company, told me he used to work for Ma Bell before they were broken up.. he said the graveyard shift knew which phone numbers had juicy calls at nite and would tap in and put the conversations over the PA system...
I think that's an indicator that all systems with supposed good intentions get abused...
If I were an atty that worked for a firm that goes after big corporations, I'd have to wonder if my phone calls might be tapped as it seems the big corporations all help each other out...

"Already, some local companies and other institutions are responding to potential user unease by creating policies about what data they will or won't collect, and how they might use it."
Pull my other leg. If the information is there, someone, somewhere, will not be able to resist using it. Especially is someone can make money selling it to someone else.

Or denying something to you because of that info...
But dont sweat it, pretty soon we will just have to get an RFID tag injected into our butt, and then we can just pass through to ride the bus...or get groceries...health care...fuel for our car...

I just found this these last night for the problem. All US passports, and the new passport cards, as well as new credit cards have the same problem! Here's a solution: http://www.idstronghold.com/ ( I have nothing to do with the company)

Most importantly the big eye in the sky needs to keep track of what you're doing with those recyclables...
