Breaking news: Airport expansion would bring more street traffic

When they're not wasting money needlessly expanding the Portland airport, they're wasting money talking about it. Here's a boatload of dough that's been dropped to tell us that, yes, if they build more stuff at PDX, more cars will go out there.

This town is clearly going to plan its way to bankruptcy.

That is a very useful document!
Why, if it were not for page 29 I never would have know that we had a Bong Street out there.

Get yourself a copy of the new Portland 30 year bike plan. It's a half inch thick booklet full of stuff.

Perfect for a Minor League Baseball Stadium! Freeway access, MAX access. There are already hotels out there...

"Build it and they will come!"

In response to..."This town is clearly going to plan its way to bankruptcy"...I would respectifully disagree.

If you haven't noticed, Portland is widely regarded as one of the best places to live in the USA, if not the world. Long range planning has no doubt assisted in this. Also, the Portland Airport is consistently ranked as one of the best in the USA, if not the world. This didn't happen by accident.

The amount of money spent on "planning" is a percent of a percent of 1) the annual budget and economic imapct of a facility like PDX and 2) the long term benefits that planning provides.
