Danger, Will Robinson!

Our PC got sucked into the Windows Update Dead Zone for a while this morning. Something called "Vista Service Pack 2" invaded it. So far, so good, but if you never hear from us again, you'll know what happened.

Didn't you get the $29 Windows 7 upgrade offer to academics. I did. I'm a Mac user but I run Windows 7 in a virtual environment. I jumped from XP to Win7. Would never touch Vista.

Buying Vista was not completely voluntary on my part.

Windows 7 does look like a pretty good exit strategy for Vista users.

I went from XP to 7 myself. So far, so good.
I bought it for $50 back in July when Microsoft offered the pre-order deals.
